Serology Testing Statistics

Serological tests, or antibody tests, look for antibodies that are made by the immune system in response to a specific virus.  Antibody tests should not be used to diagnose an active coronavirus infection. Specimens for antibody tests are collect through a finger stick or blood draw. Although data for antibody tests are posted online, IDPH does not include them in the number of statewide total tests performed or use them in calculating test positivity.
