COVID-19 Travel Guidance

The Illinois Department of Public Health is adopting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations and guidance on considerations for travel to domestic and international destinations during the COVID-19 pandemic. CDC is providing information pertaining to the relative risk of travel to different locations and the existing community spread occurring in these destinations to assess the risk of traveling to these locations.

CDC Data for Travelling Domestically

CDC has provided a state level map to show where the highest and lowest rates of community transmission of COVID-19 are occurring domestically. This information can be used to assist with determining mask use, travel recommendations, and behaviors while in higher or lower risk areas of the country.

COVID-19 Travel Recommendations by International Destination

CDC has provided a travel notice map, relaying the relative risks of travelling internationally to different areas of the world. Please use this map if you are planning on travelling internationally to determine the risk of travel.
