Mpox Testing

In the United States, the test for Mpox virus is run using a sample collected from a lesion. Individuals wishing to be tested for mpox will need to contact their health care provider to see about testing availability. Then during their appointment, the provider will use a swab in and around one or more lesions to collect a sample. That sample is then sent off to a lab to conduct the test.
